Note: This policy describes the technical state of this website (as of September 2026). It is a draft and should be reviewed legally before publication.

1. Privacy at a glance

The following notes give a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data by which you can be personally identified.

This website works without cookies, without analytics and without marketing tools. Fonts, images and videos are served entirely from our own server – simply opening a page transfers no data to third parties such as Google, YouTube or Meta. The two exceptions are the Google Maps map and the 360° tours; both load only if you start them yourself by clicking (see sections 9 and 10).

4. Hosting and server log files

IONOS privacy policy

When you access the website, IONOS as our processor automatically collects information in what are known as server log files, which your browser transmits: browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL, host name of the accessing device, time of the server request and IP address. This data is technically necessary to operate the website; it is not merged with other data sources and is not evaluated for advertising or analytics purposes. The log files are deleted as soon as they are no longer required for the purpose for which they were collected.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR – we have a legitimate interest in providing our website reliably and securely. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with IONOS. According to the provider, processing takes place in data centres within the European Union.

5. Cookies

This website uses no cookies. Neither session cookies nor persistent cookies are set, and your browser is not recognised on a later visit.

6. Analytics and advertising

This website uses no analytics or advertising services – in particular no Google Analytics, no Google Ads conversion tracking, no Google Tag Manager and no Meta pixel. Your browsing behaviour is not evaluated.

7. Fonts

The fonts Archivo and Space Grotesk are embedded locally on our own server. No connection to Google servers is established and no data is transmitted to Google.

8. Videos

The videos on this website (background footage and the image film) are served directly from our own server. No plug-ins from YouTube, Vimeo or comparable providers are embedded; playing them transmits no data to third parties. The image film is only loaded once you actively start it.

9. Google Maps (on click only)

On the “Location & Contact” section we offer a Google Maps map. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

The map does not load automatically. When you open the page you initially see only a preview from our own server; no connection to Google is established. The map is loaded only when you click “Load Google Maps”. Your browser then transmits your IP address to Google; Google may set cookies or use comparable technologies and may transfer data to the USA.

The legal basis for loading the map is your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, which you give by clicking the button. You can withdraw your consent at any time by reloading the page – the map then returns to its unloaded state. If you prefer not to use the map at all, the address is shown next to it in plain text and can be opened in any mapping service of your choice.

10. 360° tours (Matterport, on click only)

On the “Tour” page we offer four walkable 360° views of our rooms. The technical provider is Matterport, Inc., 352 East Java Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94089, USA.

The tours do not load automatically. When you open the page you see only a still image from our own server; no connection to Matterport is established. The respective view is loaded only when you click “Start the tour”. Your browser then transmits your IP address to Matterport, among other data; the provider may set cookies or use comparable technologies and may transfer data to the USA.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, given by clicking the button – each time for the single tour you start. You can withdraw your consent at any time by reloading the page. For more information see the Matterport privacy policy: matterport.com/legal/privacy-policy.

11. Contact and enquiry form

If you use the enquiry form on this website, the details you enter – occasion, preferred date, number of guests, name, company, email address, phone number and your message – are transmitted exclusively by email to our mailbox at bauwerk@metz-event.de. No database is created on the server and no data is passed on to third parties. The transmission runs via our host IONOS, with whom a data processing agreement is in place.

To protect against automated submissions the form contains a field invisible to you as well as a check of how quickly the form was submitted. No data is transferred to third parties in the process and no cookies are set; a service such as Google reCAPTCHA is deliberately not used.

The same applies if you contact us by email or telephone: your details are stored for the purpose of handling your enquiry and any follow-up questions, and are not passed on without your consent.

12. Withdrawal of your consent

Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can withdraw consent already given at any time. An informal message by email is sufficient. The lawfulness of the processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.

13. Your rights

Within the scope of the applicable statutory provisions you have the right at any time to obtain free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the processing, as well as a right to:

14. Right to lodge a complaint

In the event of breaches of data protection law you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. The competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia. 15. Objection to promotional emails

We hereby object to the use of contact data published within the scope of the imprint obligation for sending advertising and information material that has not been expressly requested. We expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising information, for example by spam email.

16. SSL/TLS encryption

This site uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser address bar changing from “http://” to “https://”.

17. Note on data transmission over the internet

Please note that data transmission over the internet (for example when communicating by email) can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
