Bauwerk holds 400 guests on one level. If that is not enough, the event grows along the Magistrale: the Machwerkhalle and the Lichthalle can be added, bringing the venue up to 1,000 people — without your guests leaving the site. To see how that feels, the model just below can be turned, its boxes opened and its seating changed.

Six modules slide out of the glass side wall at the push of a button — each with its own footprint, all with around 2.3 m of clear height. In the building we call them by their names — the model above uses the same ones.

Machwerkhalle and Lichthalle are directly connected to our event spaces and easily create a larger space with unlimited possibilities — without your guests having to change location.
Machwerkhalle
On the ground floor, step-free and directly connected — for exhibition, a second stage or catering when the main hall needs to stay seated.
Lichthalle
The largest of the additional event spaces: bright, open and ideal for reception, registration or break-out sessions alongside the main programme.

Combined, the three halls add up to 1,560 m² and carry events of up to 1,000 people — one location, one journey, one contact.
What size does
your event need?
The figures above show the maximum. The more useful question is usually how a given number of guests actually feels in the building. Four typical orders of magnitude:

Banquet seating at round tables with room to move. The hall can be divided so that 200 guests do not get lost in a space that is too large. The boxes take over bar and lounge duties.
Event venue in Cologne for 300 people
Theatre seating in front of the LED wall — the classic conference or awards setup. In trade show mode with stands, around 300 people fit as well.

The full length of the hall for a standing reception, everything on one level. No splitting across two floors, no group spending the evening in a side room.

How many guests fit into Bauwerk?
400 guests on a single level, in a hall of 700 m² and 38.8 metres in length. With the Machwerkhalle (360 m²) and the Lichthalle (500 m²) added, there are 1,560 m² in total and room for up to 1,000 guests.
Can I see the space in advance?
Yes, in two ways: the 3D model at the top of this page can be turned, the boxes moved out and the seating changed. And the 360° tour offers four real walkthroughs of the hall, the boxes and the studio.
How many people can be seated at round tables?
200 people in banquet seating at round tables. For comparison: 300 in theatre style, 140 in classroom style, 400 for a standing reception and around 300 in trade show mode.
Is the venue step-free?
The hall is on ground level, and so is the delivery access. The Machwerkhalle, which can be booked in addition, is also on the ground floor and step-free.
Is there an outdoor area?
Yes — the Magistrale, the covered walkway between the old factory halls. It is used for receptions, lounge areas and breaks, and sits on the same level as the hall.
